I checked out the registry entries but all was okay there. I did run scannow and it found a few corrupted files and corrected them but there's no change with the gadgets. UAC is on but it has never caused a problem so I didn't try turning it off as I'm notĮxperiencing any other problems. I am very reluctant to do a System Restore as I have no idea how long the gadgets have been like this as I don't change them often. Tried killing and restarting the sidebar process but that didn't help. All I saw it do was open the gadgets window. I I tried the Restore Desktop Gadgets but it didn't appear to do anything as I saw no change to the existing displayed gadgets and I was still unable to modify anything.
